Job Description

Transport SupervisorDeeside £26,000 - £28,000 MondayFriday, 11:0020:00Im currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join a family run business who specialise within general haulage and pallet network operations.They are seeking a Transport Supervisor to support the current transport operation in the management of route planning, customer service and operational management on the General and Network side of the operation.The Candidate;

  • Transport Supervisor and driver management experience
  • Pallet network or general haulage planning experience is desirable
  • Previous experience within a fast paced transport position
  • Experience of using system based planning tools
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Good communication skills, interaction at all levels internal and external
  • Self-learner, the ability to continually learn, develop and adapt
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competent decision making
  • Good geographical knowledge
Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Carry out the day to day procedures of the Traffic Office and instruct drivers in their daily duties to ensure that the customers requirements are met.
  • Instruct drivers fully on each job to be undertaken and ensure that they are fully aware of requirements to enable each task to be correctly completed.
  • Route planning for full loads, groupage and pallet network loads
  • Monitoring driver performance
  • Liaise with the network of hauliers to obtain backloads
  • Complete accurate trailer manifests
  • Review driver routes and plan to maximise efficiency
  • Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays
  • Provide the communication link between customers and drivers
  • Supervising and managing driver workloads
  • Managing your drivers daily activities in line with the Working Time Directive and Driving hours.
  • Ensuring every customer receives excellent customer service
