This is a brilliant opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a great well-established team in a fantastic business. Working closely with the Finance Director andsenior management team this role will be pivotal in delivering improved reporting and financial understanding throughout the business to support profitable growth. The role offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to develop and lead a first-classfinance function.Your new role as Financial controller:Your duties will include:Establish effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a companys ledgersEnsure the business has sound financial processes and internal controlsEnsure that the company meets the necessary compliance obligationsOverseeing all financial accounting and control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and disclosuresProviding management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective decision makingSummarising budget trends, analysing deficiencies and reporting variancesProviding external auditors with the necessary documentation and supportIdentifying improvement areas within existing accounting systems and procedures, looking to ensure integrity of the ledgers, maximise efficiency and productivity; enabling the production of timely and accurate financial informationLeadership of the financial accounting team - 1-1s, performance reviews and development and trainingMaintain Daily cash flow model and review bank reconciliations of all bank accountsBeing first approver of payments on the companys on-line banking prior the FDs approvalOversee sales and purchase ledgers and address any issues by liaising with team members, other departments and customers/suppliersReport on actual weekly cash balances and future cash projections.Prepare month-end management reports from Sage including balance sheet reconciliations.Review month-end bank reconciliations on Invoice Discounting accounts (task undertaken by Asst Accountant)Review monthly payrollReview VAT report submissions to HMRC performing Vat reconciliations and proof of VAT for review by the FDCompleting weekly flash reportEnsuring net working capital reduction and cash improvementManaging cash and cash availability, ensuring working capital control eg: Completing weekly Short Term Cash Forecasts, Debtor exception reportingCompleting monthly management accountsEnsuring timely preparation and circulation of KPIs and variances against forecasts and budget.Supporting the FD in the financial planning processes budgeting and forecasting and analysing performance of manufacturing operations in line with business plan (P&L Balance Sheet and Cash flows)Financial analysis of the business, supporting the FD in identifying opportunities to increase performance and profitability.Driving improvements in relation to interpretation of financial performanceManaging all statutory requirementsPerform Credit Management duties checking trading history of all customers and performing ID checks; setting credit limits for customers and recommending credit terms to the FDSet new supplier procedure to ensure accurate information is held eg Bank account details are validated, Companies House numbers and VAT registrations are checkedThe Experience & Qualifications Required:The successful Candidate shall be/have:ACA / ACCA/CIMA Qualified5+ years PQE Driven & ambitious individual who will thrive in a swiftly moving, ever-changing environmentManagement experience including personnel and team developmentManufacturing experience highly desirableStrong ability with Excel including pivot tables and v-lookups Your Reward & The Package On Offer:As Financial Controller, you shall receiveA salary of up to £75,000 per annum depending on experienceThis role is based onsite 5 days a week (40 hours)Interviews are looking to be arranged week commencing 25th September so please apply with your CV straight away or get in touch with James Turver at Butler Rose for a confidential conversation.Who Are Butler RoseButler Rose specialises in the recruitment of accountancy and finance professionals, from transactional and part-qualified appointments through to Group FDs.With offices in Lancaster, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Exeter, London, Milton Keynes and Southampton, we work with a range of businesses across the UK from SMEs and local accountancy firms to large Plcs and the Big 4, as well as many public sector and not-for-profitorganisations.
