Job Description

Project manager12 Months Darlington£41.31/hr Umbrella - £32.64 PAYEWe are currently looking for a Project Manager with experience in the purchasing field for an initial 12 month contract. This role will be based out of our clients Darlington site (currently work from home only due to COVID restrictions.)The IndividualWe are looking for someone who is well organized, proficient with MS office (Excel/ Powerpoint etc.), has good energy and ability to coordinate many tasks. Manages, develops, and implements project(s) of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area. Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.Engineering and Commercial Engagement in the New Product Development (NPD) process, specifically in the NPD space with sourcing teams and engineering which include engaging on leading stewardship of cost management guiding and collaborating with Sourcing Teams on appropriate handshakes between technical needs, sourcing and commercial benefit.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with VPI fast paced projects.
  • Lead purchasing efforts for the assigned VPI programs as core team member
  • Manage and Champion change.
  • Deal with high program complexity due to aftertreatment products being very technically driven.
  • Work very closely with cross functional teams to meet program deliverables.
  • Lead multiple projects from inception to completion
  • Facilitates project planning sessions with suppliers to determine the scope and objectives of each project and provide lead time inputs for internal project planning sessions;
  • Works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals and cost targets; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline with suppliers.
  • Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.
  • Plans and monitors project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
  • Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions.

  • Work cross functionally and project management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, word etc.), manage data and track details.
  • Manages the project schedule using the recommended project management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.
  • Manages a list of project deliverables (scope) using the recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully.
  • Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
  • Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • College, university, or equivalent bachelors degree required.
  • Experience Intermediate level of relevant work experience in Purchasing area (at least 5 years) required.
