After 3 years service, an additional days holiday for each year of service up to a maximum of 25 days.* Membership of the Companys pension scheme.* Death-in-service life assurance.THE BUSINESSAre you a new graduate or recently qualified graduate who specialises in Structural Design Engineering Are you proficient with the use of finite element analysis Are you skilled with AutoCAD and additional design packages Are you seeking to start your careerwith a renowned client whose roots stretch back to the 19th centuryIf the answer to the above is YES, we would love to hear from you today.We are seeking to recruit Graduate Structural Design Engineer for our client based in Darlington.Our client has a long-distinguished history in the construction of landmark structures around the world, particularly iconic bridges and buildings.The organisations principal focus now is the design, manufacture and operation of specialist equipment and temporary works for the construction of bridges, buildings, offshore structures, refineries, power stations and industrial plants. They have particularexpertise in the erection of long span suspension and cable stayed bridges and in the engineering for specialist modular construction including heavy lifting and skidding operations.You will be working within a team of engineers and CAD technicians, carrying out conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures and equipment, particularly related to construction engineering of bridges, tower systems and complex structures.THE ROLE* Conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures, particularly in steel.* Erection engineering.* Conceptual and detailed design of specialist equipment, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects.* Preparation of detailed calculations using computer program Excel (preferred) or by hand.* Static analyses of structures using structural analysis (FEA) computer programs.* Liaison with CAD team.* Preparation of sketches and drawings using computer program AutoCAD or by hand.* Development of standard spreadsheet solutions suitable for use with Excel.THE PERSONEssential:* Graduate of Structural Engineer (expecting to graduate within the next few months as First)* Experience in the use of computer drafting programs (AutoCAD)* Experience in the use of finite element analysis computer programs* Good general IT skills (Microsoft word, Excel, Email Systems)* Good presentation and communication skills* Knowledge of Eurocodes, particularly EN 1993Preferable:* Masters Degree or due to be completed within this academic year* Experience in analysis and design of structures, particularly in steel* Experience in design of temporary works, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects* Site experienceTHE PACKAGE The Graduate Structural Design Engineer role pays between £28K-£30K per annumTO APPLYPlease send your updated CV to Tony Hutchinson or apply direct by calling Westray Recruitment Group
