Job Description

Job Title: Graduate Design Engineer We are seeking a motivated Graduate Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will be involved in the conceptualization and detailed design of both permanent and temporary structures, with a particularemphasis on steel constructions. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in designing specialist equipment tailored for heavy lifting and moving projects. Erection engineering and static analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software will be amongyour core responsibilities. You will be expected to prepare detailed calculations and drawings using tools such as Excel and AutoCAD. Collaboration with our CAD team and the development of standard spreadsheet solutions will be integral to your role.Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures, predominantly in steel.
  • Design of specialist equipment for heavy lifting and moving projects.
  • Erection engineering and static analyses using FEA software.
  • Preparation of detailed calculations and drawings using Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Liaison with the CAD team for seamless project execution.
  • Development of standard spreadsheet solutions suitable for Excel.
Qualifications and Experience: Essential:
  • Graduate or Studying Civil or Structural Engineer (expecting to graduate within the next few months).
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis software.
  • Proficiency in computer drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email Systems.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, particularly EN 1993.
Preferable:
  • Masters Degree or due for completion within the current academic year.
  • Experience in the analysis and design of structures, especially in steel.
  • Experience in designing temporary works, particularly for heavy lifting and moving projects.
  • Some site experience would be advantageous.
