An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 8b Senior Matron within the General Intensive Care Unit and related services at Morriston Hospital.The 28 bed Intensive Care Unit admits adults requiring both level 2 and level 3 care across many specialties including Tertiary services such as Renal, Pancreatic, Thoracic, Urology and Vascular Services. It is also a center of excellence for interventional cardiology. Supporting and developing staff in their workplace is essential to your success.The post offers a brilliant opportunity for a dynamic nurse manager to provide visible leadership to the nursing and health care workforce and work as part of the Units multi-disciplinary leadership team. It is essential that the individual can demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of a robust patient safety and quality agenda.The post holder will work collaboratively with the Head of Nursing, the Interim Associate Service Director and the Clinical Director to deliver services in line with the Improvement and Modernization Agenda.The post holder will work with other Senior Matrons and stakeholders to deliver the Morriston Delivery Unit and Critical Care objectives.It is essential that you are a good communicator, have extensive critical care nursing experience and have the ability to challenge practice to ensure delivery of a safe and efficient service.The successful candidate must be able to evidence a track record of change management in a challenging and complex environment.
