Senior Chief Technologist – Head of Orthodontic SpecialtyApplications are invited to join our large busy team in the Maxillofacial Laboratory, working in a modern spacious environment and being part of one the UKs leading units; covering all aspects of Maxillofacial, Orthodontic and Restorative treatments in support of the Consultant led service situated in Swansea Bay University Health board (SBUHB)We are looking for a confident motivated and enthusiastic Orthodontic Dental Technologist with excellent leadership and interpersonal qualities. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate highly developed skills and be knowledgeable in all areas of orthodontics and cleft lip and palate. (Experience working in the NHS is desirable but not essential)You will be responsible for the line management of the orthodontic technical team and service development, working closely with clinical colleagues within the Head and Neck Service and be required to lead on design and fabrication of a full range of removable and fixed orthodontic appliances, but also have detailed knowledge of Maxillofacial and Prosthodontic areas which may require collaboration or support.As head of service, you will liaise closely with the other service leads and actively contribute to the Laboratory Quality Management System and leading on the stock and ordering of supplies.The Maxillofacial Laboratory has a national and international reputation and you will be expected to participate in didactic and hands-on teaching of laboratory techniques for in house and external Maxillofacial Unit training.
