We are seeking nurses who are enthusiastic to develop their clinical knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the experiences of our patients within interventional cardiology.The Cardiac Catheterisation labs and Cardiac Short Stay Unit is an exciting department at the forefront of delivering dynamic and contemporary cardiovascular care.We provide care for elective and emergency patients requiring coronary angiogram, angioplasty and stenting procedures, complex intervention (rotablation, CTO), electrophysiology studies and ablation, complex device implants (Internal Cardiac Defibrillators, Permanent Pacemakers, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillators and Pacing) and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation.Our elective service runs Monday to Friday with our emergency service extending out of hours to support our highly successful 24/7 Heart Attack (STEMI/primary PCI) service serving the population of South West Wales. It is expected you will support the on-call rota following a period of appropriate training.Cardiac Catheter LabOur team of expert interventional nurses have a varied job plan; they can scrub and assist for all procedures, recover post procedure patients, deliver patient education, support audit and service improvement, clinical governance, and receive acute Heart Attack patients direct from Welsh Ambulance Service.Cardiac Short Stay Unit Our cardiac short stay unit is an 11 bedded area open Monday to Friday. We specialise in caring for patients undergoing day case elective procedures, which includes a treat and repatriate service. Patient education, audit support and service improvement are important components of this role.As a dynamic team we are looking for people who possess a natural desire to drive improvement initiatives and sustain our excellent standards of cardiac services. We will provide a comprehensive competency based training programme to support the development of your career within interventional cardiology to include access to post registration education.You will enjoy working within a busy unpredictable environment, be a true team player and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively within a multi-professional team is essential.
