Following the successful implementation of the Thoracic Prehabilitation Service across health boards in South West Wales, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established Thoracic prehabilitation and Cardiothoracic inpatient service.There are two components to this role. Firstly, you will support the physiotherapists and work alongside other physiotherapy practitioners to manage the scheduling and delivery of the thoracic prehab exercises classes, working across sites to reach out to those patients in the community helping them improve their fitness ready for thoracic surgery.Secondly, you will also work alongside the inpatient physiotherapists managing the post-operative cardiac and thoracic patients, ensuring early mobility and exercise compliance during their initial recovery phase.You will then have an opportunity to continue to support these patients following their surgery in their post-operative rehabilitation phase.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.You will need to be able to demonstrate significant experience of working in rehabilitation within the NHS, social care or community based settings. Previous therapy assistant experience is also highly desirable for this role, with at least 2 years clinical ward experience as a band 3 physiotherapy assistant.An NVQ 2 in a health care related subject is essential, and /or evidence that you are working towards the physiotherapy support worker diploma. The role would also involve support and training of other physiotherapy support workers.
