We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our surgical team who is passionate about ensuring patients receive safe, high quality care. You must be patient focused with the ability to develop improvements to our services that will meet the changing needs of our patients.You will be joining a supportive team of Matrons who have a wealth of knowledge across all specialties within the surgical services group. We are looking for an individual who has extensive experience and abilities in directing, leading and motivating nursing staff.The quality of the Health Board’s clinical care and the safety of its patients are fundamental to the Health Boards values. The Matron is expected to work autonomously and is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of evidence based, safe and effective nursing care, infection prevention, safeguarding and patient flow standards within their defined area of responsibility. Structured guidance operationally and strategically is available from the Senior Matron and Head of Nursing.The role provides direct leadership to ensure that the ward managers are able to implement the nursing and quality strategy, person-centred approaches to care and to deliver a nursing service that prioritises the care needs of patients and their families to enable a positive experience.
