We are looking for an Assistant Technical Officer to join the Renal Technical Services team based at Morriston Hospital, Swansea.The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the technical team with a wide range of technical support for all renal dialysis equipment, water treatment and associated equipment based within the hospital and at patient’s homes across the West Wales region. This region covers an area extending from Bridgend in the east to Pembroke in the west and north to Machynlleth.Whilst the duties are varied, the post would suit an energetic, self-motivated person who is capable of working individually and as part of a team and is also computer literate with good communication skills. You will need to have an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to new situations, be hard working, reliable and keen to learnAn NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in a physical science or engineering subject or equivalent relevant training /vocational qualification or experience working within the healthcare environment and working with medical equipment would be desirable.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.For further details / informal visits contact:Wyn PassmoreChief Renal Technologistwyn.passmore@wales.nhs.uk
