Job Description

At Sapphire Recruitment Ltd, we are currently hiring for the position of Transport Operator - 4 Days on 4 Days off, for our client in Cullompton.As a Transport Operator, your main responsibility will be to coordinate the day-to-day operations of a busy depot, specifically focusing on the Chilled and Ambient operations.Responsibilities:

  • Take a leadership role in managing the daily transport issues, including overseeing dispatch debriefs and work in progress.
  • Work closely with the customer to ensure the smooth running of the overall logistics.
  • Manage and debrief drivers, providing necessary guidance and support.
  • Handle customer relations and perform associated administrative duties.
  • Respond to queries promptly and efficiently through email, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Assist in the generation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and daily statistics.
Essential Skills required:
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, with a solid understanding of traffic management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the local area to optimize route planning.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Solution-driven mindset and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
