Job title: Senior Mechanical EngineerLocation: Cullompton areaPay: £15 - £17 per hour (negotiable) + overtime, van, holiday, pensionHours: Days, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per weekAcorn by Synergie has a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a friendly family-owned business on the outskirts of Cullompton. Acorns client has over 30 years experience in mechanical engineering and general fabrication,and they are now looking for a suitable candidate to join and lead the Site Mechanical/Service Team.The successful candidate will be someone with experience in mechanical engineering preferably with feed mill and other process equipment repairs and installation.The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all relevant H&S procedures are carried out and followed by all team members.Senior Mechanical Engineer skills/experience:* Engineer will be mechanically biased and apprentice trained, time served, or have studied City & Guilds in an appropriate discipline* Experience within heavy Industrial, factory, feed/paper mill or similar environments* Experience in repair/maintenance/replacement of equipment such as chain, flight, belt and/or screw conveyors, bucket and belt elevators, industrial fans and similar* Experience of installation of new equipment and steelwork* Knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working* Capability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces* Highly self motivated and solutions focused with the ability to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team and have good communication skills* Ability and confidence to lead and guide a team on site ensuring all health and safety rules are followed* Full Driving Licence* Hands on and willing to undertake overtimeIn return you will receive:* Company van* 28 days holiday* Free parking* Company pension* Plenty of overtime* Excellent team and working environment* Most sites are local so overnight stays away is only on very rare occasions and usually voluntaryAcorn by Synergie acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
