Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding career in children’s residential care Do you have experience in managing a team and delivering high-quality care If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our children’s residential service based in Exeter. You will be responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations,and providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children and young people in our care.As a Deputy Manager, you will:

  • Supervise and mentor the staff team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the children and young people
  • Promote the welfare and safeguarding of the children and young people, and report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities
  • Work in partnership with the children and young people, their families, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes
  • Implement and review care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide cover for the Registered Manager when required
To be considered for this role, you will need:
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • At least 1 years of experience in a senior or supervisory role in a children’s residential setting
  • At least two years in children and young people residential settings
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • A flexible and resilient approach to work, with the ability to work shifts, weekends, and bank holidays
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and training
