Job Description

Job Title: Coach Builder / FabricatorJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentLocation: DevonJob Summary:We are looking for a skilled Coach Builder / Fabricator to join our successful team. As a Coach Builder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of a variety of coaches and buses. Your primary duties will includewelding, fabricating, and installing various components and systems, such as chassis, frames, suspension systems, brakes, electrical systems, and interiors.Responsibilities:

  • Perform coach building and fabrication tasks, including welding, cutting, bending, and shaping of metal sheets, tubes, and profiles
  • Fabricate and install chassis, frames, and suspension systems, and install braking and steering systems
  • Fit and install interiors, including seats, windows, and electrical systems
  • Repair and maintain coaches and buses, including diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues
  • Work with other members of the team to ensure that projects are completed to the required standard, and to meet agreed deadlines
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and best practices in the workshop, and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including time and materials used
  • Attend training courses and workshops to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Coach Builder / Fabricator, with a strong track record in welding, fabrication, and coach building
  • Good knowledge of metalworking tools, equipment, and techniques, including welding, cutting, and bending
  • Familiarity with chassis, frames, suspension, and braking systems, and with the installation of electrical systems and interiors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work independently and to manage your workload effectively, with excellent time-management skills
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing work of the highest quality
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, when required
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or metalworking.
