Job Description

We currently have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our Commercial Enterprise Unit. The business unit is an integral part of our Specialty division that provides an advisory broker service to commercial and consumer clientsacross the UK. The Commercial Enterprise Unit specialises in providing a first class professional service to small business owners, responsible for placing over £20m GWP across over 19k policies. The team are based across our key office sites of Gloucester,Halifax, Leicester and Croydon.As the Team Leader, you will provide a key role in ensuring that your team achieve high service levels in line with our clients expectations, along with ensuring strong staff engagement and delivering solutions to help drive our business forward.You will also be responsible for ensuring that your team meet their defined KPIs and that the workload is monitored and allocated fairly. You will assist in developing the team in order to ensure they provide outstanding customer service, while helpingto drive growth, continual process improvement and ensuring that the client is always at the heart of what we do.The management and leadership of the team is integral to the success of driving service excellence for the Commercial Enterprise Unit.Responsibilities

  • Referral point within the team and within the team for coaching, mentoring and workload management to ensure team members continuing development
  • Maintain a working diary and ensure all renewals are dealt with in good time by allocating and monitoring workloads and renewal lists within the team
  • Ensure work is delegated to the relevant persons within the team where required
  • Managing absence, including workloads during absences to ensure customers outcomes are still met
  • Report into Line Manager on team KPIs
  • Manage individuals and their KPIs to ensure they develop, including competency assessments and allocation of relevant training
  • Carry out 1-1s with staff on a regular basis to ensure individual KPIs are being met
  • Carry out performance reviews as required and follow the correct procedure in doing so
  • Carry out team meetings to ensure team KPIS are being met and identify any team training requirements to meet KPIs
  • Collaborate and communicate with other broking teams, including team leaders to ensure consistency and sharing of workload where required
  • Monitor QA results within the team and ensure any training or other requirements (e.g. second person sign off) are met
Experience
  • Minimum of two years in a comparable Insurance Team Leading role, with a good understanding of the broking insurance market and the main classes of commercial insurance.
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise and allocate workloads across your team according to business need.
  • Previous experience of mentoring and coaching team members providing guidance and support on more complex tasks.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret management information to maximise capacity, efficiency and performance.
  • Confident use of MS Office suite and operational Acturis.
