Head of Temporary Accommodation & Support Are you ready for a rewarding leadership role that makes a positive impact on the lives of Croydon residents We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Temporary Accommodation & Support. Role Overview: As one of two Heads of Service reporting to the Director of Homelessness Prevention & Accommodation, you will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating the provision of temporary accommodation and support services in Croydon. This challenging yet fulfillingposition involves working collaboratively with the extended management team to ensure the effective and efficient development and delivery of council services aligned with departmental and council objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the assessment and provision of housing and accommodation, income maximization, and targeted support services. Ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality services by leading and motivating managers and their teams. Act as the strategic lead for temporary, emergency, and settled accommodation, including associated policies and procedures. Manage complex professional and politically sensitive issues within the area of responsibility. Develop key relationships with delivery partners to commission and deliver outcomes within the specified responsibilities. Plan and ensure service delivery within a diverse service area, meeting quality, professional, and legislative standards. Manage the necessary resources for the service area, including people, equipment, and systems. Key Deliverables: Effective service delivery meeting quality, professional, and legislative standards. Integrated service development and delivery informed by customer, partner, and stakeholder views. Corporate strategies effectively implemented within the area of responsibility. Excellence in customer service outcomes. Efficient management of external inspections. Successful responses to complex professional or politically sensitive issues. Strong relationships with delivery partners for optimal service delivery. Person Specification: Experience: Demonstrable track record of achievement at a senior level in a local authority or large complex organization. Significant experience in leadership roles within a large organization, showing personal and professional impact. Proven experience in strategic design, service development, and financial/budget management. Successful track record in motivating and leading teams to deliver improved outcomes. Experience in housing services within a multi-cultural urban community. Knowledge and Skills: Up-to-date knowledge of relevant national, regional, and local policies. Understanding of decision-making and governance within local government. Thorough understanding of equality and diversity issues. Leadership skills to facilitate great leadership, learning, and collaboration. Ability to analyze complex issues and develop strategic responses.
