Job Description

Wellington College is one of the worlds leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently looking for two well-organised, flexible and numerate individuals to join our IT Services team as a Helpdesk Technician.IT Services deliver a computer network and end point solutions across the whole College campus. This encompasses a diverse breadth of technologies ranging from high end enterprise network infrastructure to mobile devices. Join us, and you could soon be playing a vital support role within our friendly team.Your challenge To diagnose and resolve software and hardware problems, including with operating systems, across a range of applications. But that is not all. We will also rely on you to help our users with logged IT related incidents and take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes. Escalating incidents to other support team members where necessary will be important too, as will accurately recording, updating and documenting requests to use the IT help desk system. Installing and configuring new IT equipment, resolving incidents and upgrading various software and hardware and ensuring each user is treated efficiently and appropriately - all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.To succeed, you will need a good level of general education and knowledge of Windows. Intel PCs, Microsoft operating Systems & Office products, Networked PCs, DNS and Office365. We will also be looking for good general reasoning ability, a practical/constructional mindset and strong manual dexterity.
