Wellington College is one of the worlds leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation.We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Biology Teacher to join our friendly department from September 2021. The Biology Department is a thriving department that consists of 10 full time members of staff and 3 technicians. It is housed in 7 well-equipped teaching labs and 2 Harkness discussion rooms. Students enter the College in Year 9 and are part of a science rotation which aims to offer inspirational lessons; we focus on fostering independence and developing lab skills during each 9-week cycle. In Year 10 and 11 the students follow the Edexcel IGCSE course with many continuing into the Sixth Form to study either A Level or IB Biology.The successful candidate will have the positive outlook required to be part of a successful team and ensure they deliver the best possible lessons and results. In particular the candidate will have a keen commitment to fostering a love of Biology through the co-curriculum.The post would be equally suitable for a new or experienced teacher from the state or independent sectors with excellent professional development opportunities being available for all. Whilst a teaching qualification is not a pre-requisite for the role, the ability to impart a thorough knowledge and a passion for Biology to young adults is essential.
