Job Description

We have a great opportunity to join us as a Jetty Customer Services Manager.In this multifaceted role you will be the building officer and area manager for Crombie Jetty and the Road Transfer facility and will ensure that both facilities are operated in a safe and compliant manner.You will plan and co-ordinate the berthing, loading, offloading and unberthing of vessels at the Crombie Jetty and lead and manage a small team of staff supporting the inward / outward movement of explosives and associated documentation through the roadtransfer facility.We will give you the training required to enable you to assume the role of Government Authorised Explosives Representative (GAER) and Authorised Representative (AR) for dangerous goods.With other appropriate training and on-the-job learning, you will also have an opportunity to undertake rostered Duty Control Officer (DCO) duties, which see a dedicated 24/7 presence on site. These rostered commitments currently attract additional paymentsat enhanced hourly rates.Please note, that due to the nature of this position you will be required to work on the site.Through our joint endeavours with DM Glen Douglas, there may also be a requirement to assist in their jetty operations. If this occurs, a means of transportation will be provided.About the roleIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Supervise and manage a small team of permanent staff and a larger transient cohort during periods of jetty activity.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities where appropriate.
• Plan and co-ordinate jetty shipping evolutions.
• Collaborate with transport providers and external stakeholders to co-ordinate the inward / outward movement of explosives and hazardous materials.
• Assume building officer duties including responsibility for the reporting of defects.
• Understand explosive regulations and operate the jetty and road transfer facility in a compliant manner.
