Job Description

A broad Data Protection Manager role based in Crewe, this role manages two data protection professionals and is newly created. Practical experience of GDPR and its application is essential.Client DetailsThis Data Protection Manager role is based in Crewe, suitable for a candidate with operational data protection compliance experience. The business recruiting for the role operates in the health / insurance sector and is consumer facing.DescriptionThis Data Protection Manager role is based in Crewe and involves:The Data Protection Manager will be responsible for supporting and challenging the wider business on all data protection aspects to ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The role is key for working on a subject matter that willenable the Society to be successful in their ambitious growth and digital programme.ProfileThis Data Protection Manager role is based in Crewe and requires:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management, coaching and development of the Compliance Officer (Data).
  • Responsible for managing day-to-day business operations in line with internal policies and procedures
  • Ensure relevant targets, KPIs and objectives are met
  • To work collaboratively with the relevant business areas to help shape & implement the data strategy by identifying effective initiatives that are aligned to business goals
  • Lead on relevant strategic activity ensuring projects are delivered on time & within budget
  • To provide timely, consistent, accurate and clear advice on data protection practices and issues
  • To provide guidance and advise on the use of data for marketing, analytics purposes and the development of IT data governance
  • Overall responsibility for the review, maintenance and enhancement of our data protection framework, data governance processes and ensuring that privacy by design is embedded in all our change programmes
  • To drive data protection awareness across the business
  • To provide technical support and challenge to change initiatives
  • Implementation of ongoing data protection related tasks, such as data subject rights requests or data privacy impact assessments
  • Review of data protection incidents and ensure correct closure and future prevention
  • Review and analyse existing processes and practices and help to identify data protection risks and solutions
  • To support the risk function in assessing, understanding and reporting data privacy risks
  • To support internal privacy and compliance audits, ensuring actions are closed within agreed timescales
  • Undertake research on regulatory requirements and best practice
  • Develop and maintain relevant data protection policies and procedures
  • Provide technical training and regularly communicate with employees to ensure awareness of data protection requirements
  • Any other duties required by the Chief Risk & Data Officer
