Who we are:The Company:VMS Fleet Management Ltd is a forward-thinking Contract Hire, Fleet Management Company with Mercedes-Benz truck and van aftersales accreditation at its site in North Devon and MAXUS UK aftersales accreditation at our sites in Stevenage, Bathgate, Warrington, Bridgend, Crawley and Tamworth. VMS provide a wide range of services to blue chip fleet operators and Insurance Companies that includes Accident Management, Contract Hire, Repair and Maintenance Services, Vehicle Hire, Refrigeration, Salvage and Fleet Disposal.An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Manager. This position will be based in our Crawley workshop.The Role:A service manager is now required to oversee and manage the growth and development of our workshop facilities, mobile repair and recovery services including aftersales for Mercedes-Benz truck and van and MAXUS UK. Carrying out all types of work primarily on LCV and HGV vehicles the workshop provides servicing, general maintenance, MOT preparation, MOT’s PMI’s and PDI’s as well, Warranty work, roadside breakdowns, and off-site repair work.Responsibilities• Site targets and efficiencies including service levels• Training and development of team• Delivery of site objectives and growth plans• Management of both workshop, mobile and administration teams• Ensuring all weekly and monthly reports submitted • HSE• Workshop planning• Site P&L• Ensure deliver of high level of customer service• Growing and developing a teamSkill and Experience:• Previous experience in a Service environment in the automotive industry Adaptable• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels• Technical knowledge essential• Workshop planning to ensure maximisation of productivity, efficiency and utilisation• IT proficient in Microsoft OfficeThe ideal candidate will:• Be a team player• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, polite and professional• Can work under pressure and maintain professionalism• Can be flexible and respond to different ways of working in the face of changing situationsSalary: £30 – 35K plus bonuses depending on experience
