EQs purpose is to care for every customer and simplify every transaction, deliveredwith less of an impact on the environment.EQ vision is to be the leading global share registrar, offering complementary services to its client base.Business FunctionThe Pensions IT Test department is responsible for the system testing of the core Compendia pension and payroll administration system to meet the business requirements for Equiniti Pension Solutions. This involves system and regression testing the core Compendiasystem used by pension and payroll professionals to administer and configure the Compendia application and in addition system testing the digital self-service applications used by pension members and employers. The department also system tests the configurationlevel where bespoke pensions calculations, interfaces and workflows have been developed to meet an individual pension scheme requirement.Role SummaryThe role of a Senior Payroll Test Analyst is to support the Test Lead and Test Manager(s) with the QA delivery for a major payroll software release (core or configured) by contributing to the formal test approach and test plans, providing detailed breakdownof test estimates, test conditions and risk assessments and ultimately the creation of detailed test scripts for their test execution.For smaller to medium size projects a Senior Payroll Test Analyst will be required to manage the whole test cycle from test planning, scripting, execution, MI reporting through to delivery. This may involve leading a small team of test analysts (onshore& offshore) to deliver a quality assured release.As a Senior Payroll Test Analyst the individual will have detailed knowledge of payroll processes (specifically pensioner payroll) and HMRC legislation around taxation, RTI and FPS reporting.Core Duties/Responsibilities

• Be involved in defining a project test strategy/approach working in conjunction with test managers/leads
• Contribution to the writing on the project test plans (for small to medium projects will be the owner of the test plan)
• Produce and agree testing estimates for project planning
• Provide detailed estimating expertise and be able to review and sanction estimates from less
• Support the Agile analysing process, attending daily stand-ups and ownership of individual user stories
• Analysing HMRC legislation and business requirement papers to determine the specific payroll test requirements
• Risk assessments to provide guidance for proposed test coverage
• Writing of test conditions, test scripts and test data for testing projects
• Monitor any change control to original requirements for impact analysis and capture these changes within a traceability matrix or within TFS/Jira
• Work with the project manager to derive the main testing milestones with recommendations for the number of test cycles.
• Implementing scheduled tests, execution and logging the tests and evaluating the results and documenting any deviations from expected results
• Support the junior testers and offshore test team with clarifications and queries
• Defect reporting - tracking the raised faults, fault investigations and triage of faults incorporating severity ratings
• Fully understand how all aspects of your work integrates with the rest of the SDLC
• Ensure successful delivery and conclusion of all test activities to meet the project target date
• Continuously develop a professional, technical and commercially aware approach
• Supporting the definition of and test data for payroll projects, test cases and expected results

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Must be ISEB qualified to foundation level
• Must have experience of working within the financial sector
• Have good knowledge of pension payroll processes and UK HMRC legislation such as taxation and RTI, including RTI compliance and reporting requirements
• Understanding of Bulk Processes & Legislation changes such as PI, ABS, CARE EY, AA & LTA checks
• A good understanding of Payroll End of Year activities, such as Annual processing support for End of Year (Taxation checks, Period 12, Period 1, Supplementary pay runs, Payslip, P60 & P45)
• Must have experience of working in a development team that follows SDLC
• Strong quality control awareness (adherence to the core department test strategy)
• Have comprehensive test analysis skills to be able to interpret test requirements where limited information has been provided
• Have demonstrable experience of producing high quality test documentation and writing client facing test summary reports
• Good communication skills with experience of dealing with senior stakeholders and business ambassadors
• Experience of facilitating fault review sessions that involve working with the Project Manager and Senior developers to resolve defect items
• Have experience of working with the UAT/BAT teams to share knowledge and support final delivery to clients
• Experience of Microsoft TFS desirable (MS Azure DevOps), Jira desirable
• Experience of SQL Server, Microsoft office and SharePoint
• A good understanding of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution occupational pension schemes would be beneficial
• Education to A-level standard or equivalent experience
