The team cover all mechanical and electrical disciplines and provide a professional level of advice and guidance. You will be required to make regular sitevisits to meet with building users, external contractors, and consultants in addition to closely working with our team of Building Surveyors and Engineers.This is a role that requires someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to negotiate solutions, manage conflicts and take a customer-focussed approach.Does this this sounds like the type of challenge that you are looking for If so, wed love to hear from you!All West Sussex County Council (WSCC) employees have a WSCC location as their contractual work location, however we do operate a Smarter working approach, this is something that you agree locally with your manager, for what works best for you, your roleand your team. More details will be shared once you start working.The OpportunityAlongside a team of Building Surveyors, you will be responsible for directing and monitoring both maintenance and project activities. You will build good working relationships and closely work with external contract contractors, external consultants, andinternal colleagues.This role has a real impact on the residents of West Sussex. You could be advising on a packaged sewerage treatment plant in a remote location to identifying carbon reduction opportunities in a Day Care Centre to advising a Head Teacher and Governors onpriorities to maintain and replace engineering systems.About youYou will be technically competent, flexible and good partnership working skills to responds to enquires and achieve positive outcomes.You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicating on a number of different levels with multiple stakeholders and adapting your style accordingly.You will be degree educated or demonstrable experience and have detailed knowledge of relevant building services, engineering standard and procedures.For more information on the Key Skills as well as the Qualifications and/or experience required, please refer to the Job Description attached.BENEFITSHere at West Sussex County Council we care about wellbeing, allowing time for celebrating our teams efforts, and developing our team to be the best they can be.
