Paralloy Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Welding Engineer to join the team based in Billingham, where you will have the responsibility of the providing of welding information and documentation for the Fabrication Department. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. The success of the company has been built on developing quality products in rapid lead times supported by a focused approach to customer service.Key responsibilities of our Welding Engineer:- Monitor and maintain fabrication department quality standards.- Maintaining the welder qualification records 6 monthly and 2-year prolongation.- Producing individual fabrication quality plans/welding information for each customer contract.- Producing and maintaining Company WPS and PQR documentation for ASME and EN standards; including supervising, monitoring and documenting new welding procedure qualifications.- Testing on materials and welds as per customers specification e.g bend test.- Monitoring all aspects of quality control systems and records within the fabrication department; including maintaining and developing department work instructions.- Maintaining and developing department training records and training of new employees.- Writing computer programs for Polysoude equipment. Experience in using and running Polysoude systems.- Producing and compiling fabrication and NDE records for inclusion in documentation packs for completed contracts.- Maintenance and control of the records and use of measuring and monitoring equipment.- Responsible for monitoring levels, including re-stocking and control of welding consumable store.- Reading and understanding customer drawings.- Minor maintenance to welding equipment.- Control servicing and equipment resources for welding resources.- Liaising with customer and third-party inspectors and supporting inspection visits.- Work with contract engineering department to make sure we have all relevant information and documentation for all new contracts.- Continuous improvements in equipment and process, running trials and proving new methods.What we’re looking for in our Welding Engineer:- Welding co-ordination and quality control in a fabrication shop environment- Experience of interpreting and implementing ASME & EN welding codes and standards- Strong knowledge of welding processes- Strong knowledge of applicable materials and their weldability characteristics- Strong knowledge of welding safety standards and implementation of effective health, safety and environmental cultures- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience in troubleshooting welding problems- Ability to read engineering drawings- Organized and detail oriented, with a highly level of self- motivation- An effective communicator at all levels- A good working knowledge of standard Microsoft softwareIf you feel you have the skills and experience to become one of our Welding Engineer, then please click ‘Apply’ today!
