Job Description

We have various exciting opportunities now in the Bell’s group, we are now recruiting for a team of HGV Apprentices’ to join our colleagues at Billingham, Team Valley and Spennymoor. You will be part of an ambitious team and work within a busy aftersalesoperation, to help with the smooth and efficient running of the department, to ensure it meets its targets and objectives whilst delivering first class customer service. The ideal candidate will be someone who has previous mechanical experience or a stronginterest in heavy commercial vehicle repair. As a member of the team, you will ensure the highest possible levels of efficiency, quality and workmanship. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, with day release at Gateshead College and complete a comprehensiveapprenticeship. You will also be expected to have achieved a good level of Maths and English, which is a fundamental part of meeting the entry requirements.As a trainee apprentice you will be mentored to carryout the below duties until fully qualified:

To service vehicles according to the manufacturers schedule
To fit accessories to vehicles like light bar’s, fridge units, vehicle trackers etc.
To carry out final inspections and function tests on all work that requires it, as dictated by the Company/MBUK
To follow Mercedes-Benz guidelines with regards to paperwork to support all work carried out
To attend vehicle breakdowns on behalf of the company and complete roadside repairs - adhering to all safety and procedural guidelines as set out by Bell Truck and Van/ MBUK.
To identify warranty items and ensure that parts are labelled correctly and placed in the designated area.
To obtain parts from the parts department ensuring paperwork is completed accurately.
Ensure that the workshop facilities, equipment and tools are kept clean, tidy and maintained, reflecting Bell Truck and Vans image of an efficient dealership, and undertake safe working practices at all times.

Additionally, upon passing your probation, you’ll receive a company supported toolbox and tools, you will also be included in a loyalty payment scheme where you receive a cash payment on qualifying and completing five years with the business.Position Type: Permanent / Full Time / day release at college
