Job Description

Job Title: VRU Service EngineerJob Type: PermanentHours: 37.5 hours per weekJob Location: Flexible (UK)Salary: CompetitiveAs a VRU Service Engineer you will be responsible for working on Vapour Recovery Units (VRU) at various locations within the UK and Republic of Ireland. You will be required to service VRU in accordance with SGS procedures ensuring they remain in an optimum working condition. Routine testing of VRU equipment including Electrical Circuits, Mechanical Equipment, Control Systems,Instrumentation (electrical & pneumatic), Programmable Logic Controllers, Actuators (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic), valves and pumps will be required.Working as VRU Service Engineer, you will communicate with customers to arrange service visits, provide status reports to customers on VRU operation/condition, carry out Routine Preventative Maintenance to detect and correct developing faults before they reach the point where they cause unplanned downtime and unnecessary breakdowns.In the role of VRU Service Engineer, you will receive a salary between £30,000 - £36,000, plus you’ll benefit from a retail discount scheme, private health cover, a contributory pension scheme and life cover.   • Electrical, Instrumentation & Control System knowledge
  • Working knowledge of instrument calibration procedures
  • Experience working on electrical systems and have a background in control engineering, instrumentation or process systems.
  • Ability to fault-find and effectively solve problems in a logical way
  • GCSE’s in relevant subjects (A-C), or equivalent
  • ONC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Computer literate; particularly Excel and Word
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Desirable
  • Previous experience of working in Hazardous Areas on Electrical & Mechanical equipment.
  • Exposure to the oil, gas and petroleum industry
  • Instrument repair and calibration experience - preferably in the oil, gas and petroleum industries
  • Gas Analysers including calibration using standard gas mixtures
  • Use of Hart Communicators
  • Use of Vibration Monitoring/Analysis systems for rotating equipment
