We have an exciting opportunity for a General Machinist withdrive and determination to be trained as a deep hole borer.Joining our team based in Billingham, this is a full-time permanent role and in return, you will receive a salary of £21,798.00 per annum plus shift allowances and overtime. Once your training has been completed, your salary will increase to the full rate of £23,011.00 per annum, plus shift allowances and overtime. Benefits include25 days holiday + Bank Holidays and a pension scheme – 5% employer contribution.Paralloy is situated in Billingham. The growing success of the company has been built on developing quality products in rapid lead times supported by a focused approach to customer service.Key responsibilities of our General Machinist once trained will include:- Boring cast tubes to the correct programme using deep hole boring machines- Following our procedures for data collection i.e. recording of measurements before and after boring- Understanding issues relating to quality and making necessary adjustments to ensure all product passes our strict quality standards- On/offloading of tubes from racks and storage using an overhead crane- Working safely throughout all activities in line with Paralloy’s safety standards and proceduresWhat we’re looking for in our General Machinist:- Previous experience of machining in a manufacturing environment- Experience of using measuring equipment e.g. micrometres, protractors would be advantageous- A willingness and the ability to learn the required skills to be successful in this role- A good H&S and environmental awareness- A good understanding of quality issues- Good communication skills, both written and verbalIf you feel you have the skills and experience to become our General Machinist,then please click ‘Apply’ today!
