Job Description

Senior Azure Technical Architect / Cloud ArchitectRemote working / UK home basedAre you a customer-centric Technical Architect working in the Cloud Consulting or MSP sector Would you like to join an ambitious and scaling MSP where you can tangibly influence, deliver and get wide exposure across infrastructure / cloud based solutioning

  • We are looking for experienced Technical Architects to join a rapidly growing Public Cloud practice. This is a versatile and hands-on role that will suit driven individuals and creative problem-solvers. Exposure will be across multiple business strands including Digital Transformation, cyber security, AI, Big Data, and Managed Services in the context of a very broad range of industry sectors across over 700 clients.
  • The Role The Senior Azure Technical Architect will be the senior technical SME for Azure for the Architect Team, helping ensure that the design is fit for purpose in the Pre-Sales cycle. You will work with the pre-sales team (40% of the role) to provide IT managed services and full bespoke service solution support to the client. This role will require plenty of agility in terms of ways of working - from working independently to being a part of a team providing technical leadership to clients. It is essential that you are a highly analytical person who has a strong track-record of delivering complex and creative technical solutions in the MSP or cloud space. Your day-to-day solution design and delivery (60% of role) responsibilities will also include assessment studies and analysis, capacity planning, solution design, competitive analysis, and technical and solution presentation. Main Activities:
  • Provide technical assistance to the pre-sales process to ensure implementations and designs fulfil both customer requirements and operational standards
  • Solution Design and Delivery
  • Deliver projects if required (Act as a project resource for the build team)
  • Technical Authority for project delivery and solution designs
  • Pricing technical solutions
  • Contribute to bid team presentations when requested
  • Responsibility for all aspects of Azure infrastructure designs you produce from security by design to creating accompanying high-quality documentation, up until and including delivery
  • Provide feedback / peer review on designs produced by colleagues in the Azure Practice
  • Listen to feedback from client teams and constantly seek to improve the services we offer
  • Assist the automation team with development and maturity of the practice
  • Ownership and time management of your own work allocation
  • Keep up to date with platform changes and the latest certifications
  • Regularly (quarterly) demonstrate planning and progression through the Microsoft learn platform
  • Write solution documentation such as high and low-level designs
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Key technology skills: MS Azure Migration from On-Prem/Cloud to Azure Platform, Microsoft SQL, Storage and Networking
  • AZ-300/303, AZ-301/304 (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of deployment orchestration and configuration management tools (Terraform, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Kubernetes)
  • Security best practice experience
  • Understanding of Microsoft Adoption Framework
  • A strong understanding of the Azure ecosystem
  • Experience with moving customers into Azure from on-premises environments such as rehosting or refactoring customers environments
  • Depth of experience within traditional technical on prem and hosted architecture, as well as growing hybrid and pure cloud solutions knowledge
  • Azure Technical skills with understanding of the public cloud landscape
  • Strong advocate for Infrastructure as code (IaC) and have a strong understanding of Terraform
  • Azure calculator
  • Deep understanding of Azure migration paths
  • Good experience with the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider Program (CSP)
  • All interviews and candidate onboarding will be done virtually and the role can be based from home anywhere in the UK with the ability after covid and when safe to do so to occasionally travel to customer sites and for internal meetings when required.
