NUCLEAR MEDICINE SERVICEVACANCY FOR NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST CASTLE HILL HOSPITAL/HULL ROYAL INFIRMARYBand 5 -37.5 HOURS PER WEEKThe Nuclear Medicine Department provides a diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine service at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.The department consist of three gamma cameras two with SPECT/CT facility, an on site radiopharmacy and a therapy suite. A PET/CT exists on the CHH site, currently supported by Alliance Medical.The post holder will be required to provide full technologist duties in the Nuclear Medicine Departments including radiopharmacy, imaging, i.v. and intra-dermal administration of radiopharmaceuticals and in-vitro techniques.Radiopharmacy commitment is required on a rotation starting at 07.30 or 08.30am. The department operates between 07.30 am and 20.30 and a WTD compliant shift system operates between these hours.Applicants must possess a BSc/HNC or equivalent in a science or health related subject. Nuclear medicine competencies are essential for this vacancy at band 5, radiopharmacy experience and iv skills will be considered an advantage.Applicants without the relevant essentials for a qualified technologist post but with a relevant degree may be considered for a trainee post at a lower grade. The work is varied and demanding with an emphasis on accuracy, reliability and adaptability. The post holder will be able to prioritise demanding workloads and work under their own initiative.The post holder will be a key member of the Nuclear Medicine team and will have direct contact with patients, medical, nursing and other staff.
