Job Description

Mechanical TechnicianAn exciting position has become available for a full-time Mechanical Technician to join a friendly team based in Cornwall. The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week plus 5.5 hours per week contracted overtime and will earn £27,116 – 31,147 per annum.This is a key maintenance team position reporting to the Leading Hand Mechanical Technician.Role Requirements

  • A pro-active and assertive team player, with a positive can-do attitude
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail including accurate record keeping, report writing, presentation of maintenance records.
  • Good IT skills, fluent in Microsoft word / Excel / Teams.
  • Hold a qualification in HNC Level 3 / C&G Engineering Levels 1,2 &3 or a completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship.
  • Have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety practises, SSOW and regulations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous, but it is not essential as the company are much more interested in finding the right person with the right skillset.
  • Role Responsibilities
  • The candidate will be responsible for undertaking planned maintenance
  • Defect rectification on all mechanical equipment and systems, the chain system, the hull and associated structures and fittings in the ferries and shore side to ensure a safe, reliable and efficient ferry service.
