Job Description

Mechanical TechnicianAn exciting position has become available for a full-time Mechanical Technician to join a friendly team based in Cornwall. The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week plus 5.5 hours per week contracted overtime and will earn £27,116 – 31,147 per annum.This is a key maintenance team position reporting to the Leading Hand Mechanical Technician.Role Requirements

A pro-active and assertive team player, with a positive can-do attitude

Have excellent communication skills

Attention to detail including accurate record keeping, report writing, presentation of maintenance records.

Good IT skills, fluent in Microsoft word / Excel / Teams.

Hold a qualification in HNC Level 3 / C&G Engineering Levels 1,2 &3 or a completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship.

Have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety practises, SSOW and regulations.

Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous, but it is not essential as the company are much more interested in finding the right person with the right skillset.

Role Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for undertaking planned maintenance

Defect rectification on all mechanical equipment and systems, the chain system, the hull and associated structures and fittings in the ferries and shore side to ensure a safe, reliable and efficient ferry service.
