Job Description

*Full and part time hours available*We have a number of fantastic opportunities for Occupational Therapists to join our growing and innovative team here at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals (NNUH).Applications would be welcome from those seeking full or part time hours and those already working at a Band 6 level. We would also be willing to consider those who are keen to progress from a Band 5 to a Band 6 role (see attached job descriptions).We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking therapists who are keen to gain experience in a variety of specialisms as we embark on an exciting program of transformation within therapies.We also have a specific opportunity to join our Neuroscience team. This candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a clinical occupational therapy role with stroke or neurology patients, either in an acute or community setting.As an autonomous practitioner, you will:

  • provide a flexible and comprehensive service to the designated area
  • independently carry out specialised assessment and appropriate intervention for patients with complex needs incorporating physical, personal and psychological needs in relation to self-care, leisure and productivity
  • assess risks relating to the discharge process to ensure a safe and timely discharge of patients to the most appropriate setting
  • provide advice and information to patients/carers including instruction and training regarding use of equipment issued
  • carry out day to day supervision of qualified and unqualified staff
