The Norwich BioScience Institutes Partnership (NBIP) has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant (General Ledger) to join their busy Finance department.Background:The NBI Partnership provides an exciting and stimulating multidisciplinary environment in which to work. Set in 230 hectares of parkland, we are an equal opportunities employer with a comprehensive benefits package to include; competitive starting salaries,free parking, defined contribution pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement and excellent recreational and leisure facilities.The Finance department provides expert financial support to world-leading science institutes, including the John Innes Centre, Quadram Institute Bioscience and the Earlham Institute.The role:The Financial Accountant is the guardian of the general ledger. As such, even though they might not be directly responsible for each aspect, they are nevertheless responsible for the overall month-end process and, in particular, closing the books within5 working days, or better, of the book-month end.Additional responsibilities within this role include student reporting and supervision of the Financial Control team.The ideal candidate:Candidates should be part qualified in accountancy, either completing stage 1 or stage 2 in a recognised professional accounting qualification or qualified by relevant experience.Candidates should have experience of running a financial service, maintaining integrity of ledgers and credit control. They should also have experience of assisting with the management of audits as well as statistical reporting for statutory bodies and otherstakeholders. Strong customer service skills are essential, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Additional information:Salary on appointment will be within the range £33,050 to £40,750 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
