Job Description

SQL Server Database Administrator/DBA, with excellent SQL DBA experience is required for a leading Company based close to Colchester.Working for a leading organisation, the SQL Server DBA/SQL Database Administrator will be working closely within project teams, and will be responsible for the continual improvement of all of the companys SQL database estate.You will also need: -

  • Hands on technical expert in a range of technologies, who is driven, able to work on their own and hit the ground running.
  • Microsoft SQL administration skills.
  • Strong understanding of database modelling, design and architecture.
  • T-SQL Scripting and T-SQL Performance tuning.
  • MS SQL Server High Availability skills & experience.
  • Experience in any of the following Database Mirroring, Replication, Log Shipping, and Clustering and Always on High Availability Groups would be highly advantageous.
  • Performance monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning of MS SQL Server Installations.
  • Database security design and implementation.
    • .Nice to have skills:-
  • The role is primarily focussed on MS SQL Server however experience of any of the following: MySQL, IBM Netezza or Remote Data Services for AWS would be beneficial.
  • A good familiarity with Linux. With a working knowledge of BASH Scripting
  • MS SQL Server Services, such as SSAS, SSRS and SSIS.
