Job Description

Accounts Administrator - Part-timeWe are supporting a small company based on the outskirts of Colchester with recruiting for a part-time Accounts Administrator. This family-feel and supportive company are offering you the chance to work either 10am to 4pm or 9am to 3pm, Monday to Fridaywith an hour for lunch. TThe pro-rata salary is £20,000-£21,000 and you must be able to drive to get there due to the location of the office.This is a varied role which will be perfect for someone who likes to be busy and complete a variety of tasks. You must have proven experience of Xero and ideally within an administration and accounts role. You will often be the first point of contact forthe company so you must have confident communication skills and be positive when representing the business to external clients.Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Credit checking, taking payments and chasing debt
  • Open new customer and supplier accounts
  • Posting supplier invoices and statement reconciliation
  • Maintain petty cash and credit card accounts
  • Post bank receipts and payments
  • Timesheet calculation
  • VAT return and payment
  • Answering calls and greeting visitors
  • Arrange and book accommodation and travel, plus assist with arranging shows and events
  • Order supplies and consumables
  • Administration support such as filing, archiving, copying, franking, shredding post and documents when required
  • Act as the point of contact, taking messages and assisting with queries
  • Maintain holiday records
  • Organise contractors
  • On an ad-hoc basis assist with very basic social media posting for the company where required
Candidate requirements:
  • Experience using Xero
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a small and friendly team environment
  • Professional and positive approach to work
  • Must drive due to office location
You must be a personable individual who is willing to undertake any tasks required to support the business, the duties and days will vary, which is why it will require someone with good organisation skills. You must be able to multitask and prioritise whileremaining diligent.
