Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Oncology team in the post of a Specialty Doctor, which will support the consultant clinical oncologists in the delivery of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It is an excellent opportunity for developing and extending the post-holder’s knowledge in Clinical Oncology. The tumour sites will be flexible.A significant part of the role will involve the supervision of junior doctors in the care of in-patients on the oncology ward and the supervision of patients undergoing treatment at the new Collingwood Chemotherapy Unit. It will also involve ensuring the safe prescribing of chemotherapy and the management of chemotherapy-related complications. In addition, the post-holder is expected to conduct ward rounds and is responsible for patient care in conjunction with the consultant team. The post-holder will be expected to be involved in the provision of the Acute Oncology Service by supporting the consultants who partake in this.
