Job Description

Can you lead the service development strategy for IT with the confidence to craft, improve, and deliver IT services for large clients If so, then please read onWe have a superb opportunity for an IT Service Manager to make a real difference, utilising your expertise and knowledge to impact the IT services in a better way, all for our large government clients and internal IT services!IT Service Managers are accountable for designing, building, costing and improving the services provided, in addition to monitoring service and cost performance. Leading a proactive service level management approach, supporting the right first-time emphasis,along with excellent customer service and in line with agreed service levels with business leaders.As an IT Service Manager, you have the responsibility for the delivery of all IT services, whether they are supported and provisioned from internal or external basis (SOP service provided by external partners or SSCL Infrastructure service given by SSCLIT to approximately 3,000 SSCL colleagues).You must be willing to work within an out of hours SSCL IT escalation rota, "on-call" approximately one week in seven. The role is remote, but you may be required to visit one of 4 Centre of Excellences for meetingsWhat youll be doing:

  • Use your knowledge and leadership skills to develop the service strategy for all services.
  • Collaborating with senior team on the development of an annual strategy to improve our customers it services.
  • Responsible for the Supplier Management, maintaining Supplier service delivery.
  • Work with the wider Team Managers to ensure Major Incidents are successfully recorded and handled to resolution including MIR and Root Cause
  • Collaborate with customers and engage them in active development of IT services, including assisting with the production of end user communications and training materials / training initiatives
  • Embed continuous improvements to service delivery.
  • Develop and produce key service performance indicators and analysis of underlying trends.
  • Provide regular reporting on all aspects of Service Delivery performance utilising Management Information to publish for review.
What youll bring:
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • Experience within a Service Management level or comparable within IT.
  • Ability to lead delivery to SLAs and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Extensive experience in management and provision of IT.
  • The ability to translate technical information to non-technical business users and vice versa.
  • Confident in working with multi sector technology areas.
  • Clear, confident, and persuasive communicator.
It would be great if you had:
  • Professional SM qualification such as ITIL, above foundation level
  • Degree level or equivalent experience with IT related field
  • Membership of a recognised professional IT body.
