I have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Architect to join an ambitious growing business and a rapidly expanding Data team with lots of opportunity to progress. This is a brand new role being created specifically to help shape the businesssdata strategy and create an enterprise data model.Salary - £52,000 - £64,000 depending on experienceLocation - Cardiff, remote working on offer, needed in office once a month.Benefits - include contracted annual pay reviews and opportunity to earn up to 10% of salary in bonus.Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for leading on several activities belonging to our new Data Management Strategy, collaborating with the Chief Data Officer and Data Governance Office (DGO). Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the collaboration centres,enabling capabilities teams, and communities of practice within our Integrated Technology Services (ITS) department.
• You will also lead in the design, development, and implementation of data solutions including our new cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform used to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure analytics products that provide insight, and support data-led decisionmaking.
• Progressing several Data Management Strategy initiatives, which will include the creation of several data policies, principles and procedures representative of robust data management and data governance practices.
• Owning our Enterprise Data Model and managingall data modelling activities e.g., modelling data throughout its lifecycle through data flows, depicting the movement of data from initial generation through to final interpretation.
• Designing and quality assuring conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Ensuring implementation of data solutions in line with Welsh Water architecture principles and governance processes.
• Supporting the continued population of our Enterprise Data Platform, using your technical knowledge around ETL, OLTP and OLAP best practices.
• Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in all data related topics in the relevant governance forums such as Design Authority and Technical Architecture Forum.
• Forging effective stakeholder relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, to fully understand their challenges, and to translate business needs into comprehensive data specifications based upon best practice and relevant industry standards

• Good knowledge of relevant enterprise architecture frameworks (such as TOGAF), and the role that data architecture plays in such frameworks
• Strong knowledge of data management strategy frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK-2), and the interactions between data architecture and other data management activities (e.g., metadata and data modelling)
• Hands-on experience using cloud-based (preferably Azure) data products and services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake)
• Methods for entity-relationship modelling, and practical experience of developing models using an industry-standard modelling language (such as UML)
• Experience using data governance solutions for managing data, such as Microsoft Purview
• Ability to develop solutions using SQL and Python
• Agile scrum development methodology, and utilisation of relevant tools to manage project delivery, such as Microsoft DevOps
