Job Description

Do you have a passion for analysing dataExperienced in dealing with large datasets as well as an excellent knowledge and capability using standard analysis and delivery toolsWe want to hear from you!SSCL Data and Analysis Team are looking for a data genius to join them in working on their strategic management information. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of client facing reports that convey insights and understanding of complexdata, as well as designing and building data analysis tools for internal use.We can offer great career progression opportunities, ability to be based anywhere across the UK, benefits which you can flex to meet your needs and training and development opportunities.What youll be doing:

  • Logging Freedom of Information (FOI), Fraud and Audit data requests and co-ordinating responses
  • Production of key dashboard reports and analysis for the Executive team and clients to agreed deadlines during the month
  • Conducting analysis on adhoc large datasets, drawing out key insights and conclusions, documenting and sharing with clients, both internal and external
  • Developing and delivering key visual representations of key data elements to aid communication and decision making (via Excel/VBA based toolsets)
  • Liaising with customers to determine their data requirements and supporting the development of dashboards and visualisations by the report developers
  • Running daily, weekly, monthly and adhoc defined reports from the core Oracle platform
  • As part of a wider team grow SSCLs data analysis & analytics capability - both internally and across our client base.
  • Actively promoting SSCLs business process and services with clients
What youll bring:
  • Excellent knowledge and application of Microsoft tools with particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint,
  • Demonstrable experience of working with large datasets in excel with familiarity of using filters, formula and pivots to interpret data, and combining multiple data sets and sources
  • The ability to analyse, model and interpret data
  • Problem solving skills that show a methodical and logical approach
  • Experience in developing strong visualisations using as an example; Power BI, MS Excel, SharePoint Powerpoint
  • Superb communication skills with the ability to confidently share analysis outcomes to mixed levels of Business and Client representatives
  • The ability to plan work and meet deadlines and contractual requirements
  • Desire to grow knowledge and application of new tool sets
  • Ability to learn to design, code, test, correct and document moderate-to-complex visualisations and scripts from agreed specifications
  • Collaborate with others to review specifications where appropriate.
  • Ability to work within a team sharing data and knowledge supporting development of individuals and the overall capability of the team / wider team
It would be great if you had:
  • High level of mathematical/statistical ability
  • Experience of the development of Qlik, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) Dashboards and visualisations
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, Javascript, Python
  • Previous experience of SSCL of government environment or similar
  • Previous experience of SOP or Metis applications
