Job Description

We have an opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Defence Team who are currently supporting our Aerospace customer who are going through an exciting change, deploying a on prem Cloud solution. The team is made up of 4 Senior infrastructureleads and 4 operators who act as the first and second line of support.The team, support, maintain and develop the clients cloud system, along with technical implementation and second / third line support to optimise performance.This is a full time position however the team are flexible in work patterns. You will be required to work from our customers Data Centre in Newport.What youll be doing:

  • Accept, diagnose, resolve or re-assign 2nd and 3rd line tickets.
  • Create procedures and undertake knowledge transfer for Cloud Operators (1st Line) allow for 1st Line resolution of tickets wherever possible.
  • Collaborate with tour clients in order to suggest improvements to the Cloud platform.
  • Deployment of code provided by the Customers Development Team.
  • Administration and management using System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
What youll bring:
  • Experience of Virtualisation / Windows Server / Linux.
  • Good solid understanding and experience of associated infrastructure engineering tools, techniques, methods.
  • Demonstrable experience of working as an Infrastructure Engineer on small or medium sized software engineering projects.
  • Infrastructure skills covering administration, fault finding/diagnosis and fix.
  • Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by an end user, as well as operational procedure documentation for use by service desk.
  • Extensive work experience in infrastructure Management and/or Cloud.
  • Experience of deploying and handling of OpenShift environment.
  • Configuring and operating a Cluster.
It would be great if you had:
  • Experience in Citrix NetScalers and VDI environments.
  • Experience of handling and running Azure Stack.
  • Use of PRTG Network Monitoring tool.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
  • CI/CD knowledge.
