Job Description

12 month Temporary ContractStrong SAP and MS Excel skills required.Ideally already living local to Newcastle upon Tyne.Our client is a multi-billion dollar consumer healthcare giant, based on Cobalt Park in Newcastle upon Tyne.We are looking for an Administrator with Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SAP. Working in Transport Planing Environment.The Transport Planner is responsible for using Globally standard work processes and solutions to create shipments of finished products from facilities to other sites, or, to direct customer / distributor accounts, within the UK, Ireland and NORDIC regions.The Transport Planner ensures service requirements are delivered at the most optimal cost to the company. Key tasks of the role include; Route and cost optimisation. Event monitoring and follow up, Daily collaborative communication and planning with contractedcarriers to ensure all loads have been assigned and have valid shipping conditions as per aligned contracts (additional cost avoidance).The Transport Planner will need to develop and deploy a range of skills and knowledge that will enable them to manage all aspects of the Transport Operations Role.Key skills required: Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the internal business and external Customers / suppliers (hauliers). Working within a fast paced and high pressured environment to deliver the supply chain daily cycles on time and support other functions. High degree of accuracy in the execution of Transport Operations processes and the response and delivery against Customer requests. Effective decision making, balancing Customer satisfaction with adherence to internal processes and managing costs. Excellent organisational skills to enable effectively management of multiple priorities and execution of cycles. Easily adaptable to changing circumstances, such as Business Continuity Planning intervention or robotic process management. Process or system ownership with a high degree of accountablity and adherence to business standards.They will need to develop and deploy a range of skills and knowledge that will enable management of all aspects of despatch and transportation management as well as providing a high quality standard of cover for the wider team. A high degree of initiative isa key requirement as well as a positive attitude. There will be regular daily supplier contacts, both verbal and written communication and they will need to develop a detailed understanding of the way P&G Distribution Centres and hauliers manage their business.Excellent organisational skills are required to enable management of multiple priorities across own area of responsibility.Haulier and Distribution Centre Process OwnershipEnsuring hauliers adhere to On Time Arrival targets (Delivery on Time) and mitigating risks to Failures (Failures to Arrive or FTAs).In addition to results delivery, will also be expected to:- Participate in daily direction setting meetings with the Transport team- Contribute to monthly reviews with haulier accounts- Contribute to results review meeting with hauliers to ensure joint Key Performance Indicators are delivered.- Develop pro-active relationship with the Distribution Centres, Haulier, Customer Teams and other key stakeholders to facilitate stronger customer delivery performance.- Develop knowledge of the capabilities of Transportation Managment systems & processes in order to utilise them to the greatest advantage- Investigate queries received from Customers and key stakeholders, and ensure prompt resolution.- Build & maintain excellent working relationships across the supply chain, specifically within CSO and Customer Operations contacts. This will include close collaboration with Customer Team Leaders.- Strict adherance to the daily processes and timeframe.- Understand what initiatives or promotions are happening and help to facilitate a smooth launch.- Proactively communicate issues where appropriate and identify and fix any gaps.- Execution with full audit compliance.Team Work- Develop complete personal mastery of the Transport Operations role including daily cycle delivery, KPIs and processes that will contribute to delivering business results- Provide support and coverage across the team during holiday periods.External Interface- Excellent communication skills and engagement with all suppliers and key stakeholders to deliver high levels of service.
