Job Description

Please note that this post will close once we reach a suitable number of application.We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible person to join the Health Records Team.The successful candidate will be flexible and able to adjust to the requirements of the service to cover other sites within the Trust and various shifts, which will include weekends and bank holidays.This is a very busy department covering a Central Health Records Library based at Seaton Delaval and the Reception Areas at Hexham, North Tyneside and Wansbeck General Hospitals.The reception areas include, dependent upon site, Main Outpatients, Gynaecology, Antenatal, Main Reception, Wansbeck Clinic, Surgical Day Unit, Fracture Clinic and the Medical Records Office. The role involves the production, maintenance and custody of both manual and computerised records.The successful candidate must:

  • Be educated in English and Mathematics or be able to demonstrate numeracy and literacy skills
  • Have experience of working with the public
  • Be able to work as part of a team and have flexibility to work all shifts and change role to cover all areas within the department dependent upon need
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deliver high quality customer service.
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Good keyboard skills to enable accurate capture of data
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations
