Job Description

Quantity Surveyor (QS)CONTRACTOR QS/ GRADUATE QS (INSTALLER SIDE) - with progressionTo work for an excellent contractor/ isnatller of Fire systems and you role will be to manage project spend, costs and request monies from main contractor for work done and project take from sales to handover. Good Progression!Benefits: Up to £55,000 per annum, plus a car or allowance, 33 days holiday, benefits package and pension + progression to more contracts management and more senior QS positions after these projects.Location: Commutable to London and Essex, with preferred residence in Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Essex, North London, or East London.Experience: 1-3 years post-degree experience in a Commercial Project Environment, with a preference for Electrical, Electronic, Fire and Security, Fire Alarm, Fire & Security, Fire Detection, and M&E Projects and their costings.We areis seeking aQuantity Surveyor with 1-3 years of post-degree experience.You will come and work for Fire Alarm installer as contractor Project QS using commercial skills and learning more of the contractualProjects you would get involved in would involve Electronic Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, Fire Alarm, (No technical experience necessary this is commercial)Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial support for projects
  • Assist with budget preparation and cost estimates.
  • Conduct cost analysis and forecasting.
  • Manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare valuations, claims, and variation orders.
  • Monitor and control project costs.
  • Contribute to the development of commercial processes and procedures.
  • Assist in understanding contractual matters, commercial costings, pricings, and project control.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Essential - Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of post-degree experience in a Commercial Project Environment where you have costed, priced, controlled things like equipment, labour, contractors, suppliers, manufacturer pricing, etc.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, financial aspects(and contractual can be developed) of construction projects.
  • RICS or other relevant professional qualifications (would be desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, where we have fun professionals and some great Projects... and you can be recognised and further trained in contractual matters of QS role.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
