Job Description

Title: Mechanical Maintenance EngineerLocation: [Insert Location]Salary: £32,000-£40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of mechanical machinery and equipment across our facilities. You will ensure that all mechanicalsystems and machinery are running efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and reducing repair costs.Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems and equipment, identifying and resolving issues before they become major problems.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and part replacement.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and carry out repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Install new equipment and machinery, ensuring that it is properly aligned and calibrated.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and operations staff to identify opportunities to improve machinery and equipment performance.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times, ensuring that all machinery and equipment is operated safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment service records.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a mechanical maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree).
  • Proven experience in mechanical fault-finding and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and rotating machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rota.
