The Cordwainers Livery Company is seeking to appoint an Assistant Clerk to join our small team based in the City of London.You will be a bright, polished and dynamic individual who has the efficiency to delve into and finesse our administration, alongside a professional, confident demeanour to present to our membership and to affiliated organisations.Reporting directly to the Clerk (CEO), you will be the first point of contact for our Livery and Court membership, and ensure the smooth running of the office and of the larger industry and Company events. You will play a key role in our communication tothe membership, and will assist with the production of our twice-yearly magazine, The Cordwainer, as well as keeping our website and social media channels up-to-date. You will support the Clerk and Master through robust diary and meeting management, and by ensuring the office runs smoothly. You will have an important role in majorprojects (such as an office move in Summer 2023), and additionally will manage the admissions process for new liverymen and liaise with the Companys Archivist on good and safe management of the Archives.The Cordwainers Company, currently located close to Fenchurch Street station, is among the oldest of the City of Londons Livery Companies. We are a membership-based organisation, and a major grant maker through our extensive charitable activities. Trueto our historic roots, we are passionate about supporting footwear education and the shoe industry, and we provide scholarships, bursaries and prizes to students of footwear and leather goods.To succeed in this role, you will enjoy working with our diverse membership, our partners in the footwear industry and in the City of London. You will enjoy the traditions of a livery company as well as keeping our industry and charitable activities relevanttoday.
