Job Description

Finishing JoinerPermanent roleNew Build HousingHowells are currently recruiting for a successful Housing Developer who are looking to recruit an organised and driven Finishing Joiner for their North West office. They are a multi awarded winning business with a reputation for providing fantastic training, development and progression.Job Purpose: To carry out general joinery and other remedial tasks before and within the first 49 days of the plot handover, in an effective and efficient manner to meet safety and quality standards, in line with the build programmes.Finishing Joiner Key Duties:

  • Ensure remedial work is completed in a timely manner and to a high quality standard
  • Comply with H&S standards and ensure H&S responsibilities are adhered to and followed throughout site
  • Interpret and understand the technical drawings to carry out all tasks related to joinery as required by the site management team that complies with our warranty providers standards and company timescales
  • Maintain positive relationships with Site, Assistant Site Managers and sub contractors
  • Contribute to improving the business, protecting and enhancing company reputation
  • Communicate effectively with Site Management, reporting problems, problem trends and shortages
  • Provide a high level of customer service especially when conducting customer facing duties
  • Reduce material wastage, protect materials and ongoing construction from adverse weather where practically possible
  • Support with the set up and maintenance of the compound
  • Create temporary access hatches if required
  • Create cavity tray templates
  • Carry out any airtests or sealing works as required
  • Erect signage and posts on site as required
  • Keep abreast of latest products and information
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by site management
Ideal Candidate
  • Experienced joiner
  • Second fix carpentry skills
  • Good practical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • An analytical approach to your work
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • The ability to work carefully and accurately
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • A good awareness of health and safety issues
  • An ability to read technical plans
  • Carpentry and joinery city in guilds or NVQ qualified
  • Experience in basic plumbing, tiling and decorating
  • Hold a full clean driving license
