Job Description

Title: Copper/Fibre EngineerSalary: £22,000-£32,000 DOELocation: ChorleyWe are working with a thriving Telecoms company who are seeking an experienced and junior Cabling Engineer with at least Cat5/6 cabling experience to join their team. They provide tailer made services including Broadband packages (ADSL, FTTC, FTTP), VOIP Phone Systems, Landline numbers to mobile, CCTV Systems (Hikvision,Dahua etc), Intruder Alarms (Wired & Wireless). In this role, you will be responsible for a range of installations, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, telephony, and fibre optics in various environments. You will be trained on fibre optics if you only have coppercabling experience.To be considered for this role, you must have a few years of experience within the industry already, along with a technical understanding of network cabling and installations. You must have a Full UK Driving License and ideally have certification or qualificationslike SA001/2 or CSCS or ECS or City and Guilds.Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a variety of Network & IT cabling related installations within a mixture of environments, including but not limited to, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, telephony and fibre optics.
  • Work to tight deadlines and ensure tasks are completed to meet both the companies and the clients expectations.
  • Install and test wireless access points.
  • Work in accordance with Health and Safety Policies and Statutory Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Assume lead role if required on multi personnel installations.
  • Preparation and understanding of site specific Risk Assessments.
  • Completion of all project related engineers documentation.
  • Be point of contact and liaison with customer during installation.
  • Supervise Engineers and Junior Engineers and monitor performance.
  • Provide on the job training and guidance for Engineers and Junior Engineers.
  • Carry out minor electrical installations, dependent upon qualifications.
