Job Description

Assistant Management Accountant | £25,000 - £30,000 | Permanent | Retail IndustryThis role will be working with a well-known international retail brand providing support across transactional finance with up to 4 direct reports. This is a great opportunity to take the next step in your finance career and receive a competitive salary plusstuddy support.Role responsibilities

  • Maintaining the purchase ledger function for the allocated entities
  • Processing supplier invoices in a busy and fast-faced environment
  • Assisting suppliers with any finance queries by tracking the KPIs of the finance inbox.
  • Supporting junior accountants contributions to month-end management accounting tasks including balance sheet reconciliations and posting journals.
  • Receiving and checking weekly payment runs.
  • Preparing weekly salary journals and posting of journal entry.
  • Preparing analysis for Variance / budget and looking at key margins and being able to query any areas that look unusual/wrong.
  • Protectively contribute to Cost of Sales reporting and analysis
  • Get involved in the preparation of European VAT and US sales tax returns
  • Lean, train and develop junior finance staff in a positive and growth focused manner
Person specification
  • A finance graduate with excellent academics and minimum of one years experience in a larger finance team
  • Experience of working in an Accounts Payable/Receivable function (ideally 1-2yrs)
  • Be a bright individual with a passion for the retail and consumer sector
  • Ideally have experience working with multi-currency accounts
  • Educated to Degree Level and/or be a Part Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA accountant
  • Strong communication skills to work with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when inputting data.
