He enjoys cuddles and spending time with his family and friends, sensory play, going outside, and watching his favourite films. Ben has quadriplegic cerebral palsy affectingall four limbs; he can roll independently and sit with support. Ben can express his likes and dislikes through vocalisations and gestures and is learning to use a AAC device to support his communication and how to drive his powered wheelchair! He is very muchinto technology, and he needs a Support Worker / SEN Nanny who is tech savvy. Ben has epilepsy and his seizures are controlled by daily medication. He tends to be shy or nervous of new people and situations and is sensitive to loud noises.Overview of role: Ben attends nursery 3 days per week and is supported by a Snap Care Support Worker / SEN Nanny , he now requires an additional person to join his team! He is keen for his Support Worker / SEN Nanny to assist and encourage him to help him learn to drive hiswheelchair and to set up games and activities so that he can become a whizz on his AAC device! He would also like activities to be planned such as trips to the park, farms and explore new hobbies and interests. Ben is looking for a sensitive and patient SupportWorker / SEN Nanny who will gently establish a caring bond with him and who will assist with his daily routine. You will be required to provide all aspects of personal care, administer medication, and implement the therapy program created by his multidisciplinaryteam - and of course, play and have lots of fun together.Who this job would suit: This position will suit a calm, experienced, caring andpatientsupport worker who enjoys working within a family home environment and providing 1:1 support.
