Job Description

Our client is a Billion dollar global business; however, the Northeast branch has a "family feel" to it and people look after each other as well as pulling together as a team. One of the "family" is retiring in December and they are looking to bring someone in to take over that persons duties, preferably before the end of the year. They are back to pre-Covid levels in terms of work so can offer security.Valves/Actuators/Assembly/Repair/Pressure Testing/ Fitter/Instrumentation/SwagelokJob PurposeWorking in the workshop, assembly and testing of valves, actuators and instrumentationDuties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive).Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.Main responsibility: The construction, assembly and test of actuated valve packages to industry specifications, customerrequirements and project deadlinesPrimary duties include: mechanical fitting, pressure testing, configure and setup instrument control systemsRequired to interpret and follow the instructions shown on engineering instructions, drawings and instrument diagramsPrepare and maintain the documentation to support the functionality, testing and standards required to complete the workFollow company safety policies and proceduresMaintain a neat and organised work areaAdditional duties and occasional work on other UK sites or customer job sites may be necessaryThe scope of these tasks, dependent upon training, can range from receiving inspections, wiring, mechanical and pressure test,kitting product for builds, packing for delivery and loading of finished items.Education, Experience & Ability RequirementsAny combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of sound engineering practices and be experience in working to close tolerances & be conversant with a variety of measuring equipmentAn excellent understanding of engineering drawings and good knowledge of valves, actuators and instrumentationExperience of Swagelok fittings and pipework, positioning micro switches and filter regulators.Have experience or understanding of valve pressure testing standards and testing practicesCapable of working with Smart instrument software and configuration toolsMechanical or E&I engineering qualification3 years experience in mechanical automationPrevious experience working in the oil and gas industry is desirableAdvantageous to be trained in the use of overhead/swing arm cranes and experienced in the use of fork lift trucksAppreciation for the proper use of hand and power toolsGood communication skillsAbility to work independently or as a member of a team.Valves/Actuators/Assembly/Repair/Pressure Testing/ Fitter/Instrumentation/SwagelokThis is a very urgent requirement so if you fit the bill and are interested please apply now.
